چکیده
Abstract Background Aphasia is considered an acquired communication disorder. Language intervention in aphasia enhances the patient outcomes. Recently, computer programs are developed for treatment of aphasia. It effective and a low-cost therapy choice. The aim study was to assess effectiveness language using computer-based Arabic software program rehabilitation post-stroke Arabic-speaking aphasic patients comparison conventional therapy. We conducted randomized controlled trial with blinded endpoint evaluation. included 50 patients. They were into either group I or II receive 48 sessions (group I) II). primary outcome measure improvement abilities. measured version Boston Diagnostic Examination detect any significant both groups pre-therapy results. post-therapy results compared each other document program. Results A total 105 screened subjects [40 males, mean age patients: 57.04 years± SD 10.88 58.80 years ± 11.58 II]. showed from baseline groups. There no difference between except some items whereas more improvement. Conclusions as abilities

A Randomized Controlled Trial of EEG-Based Motor Imagery Brain-Computer Interface Robotic Rehabilitation for Stroke.
Electroencephalography (EEG)-based motor imagery (MI) brain-computer interface (BCI) technology has the potential to restore motor function by inducing activity-dependent brain plasticity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of an EEG-based MI BCI system coupled with MIT-Manus shoulder-elbow robotic feedback (BCI-Manus) for subjects with chronic stroke with upper-limb hemi...

متن کاملConstraint-induced aphasia therapy in post-stroke aphasia rehabilitation: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
BACKGROUND Constraint-induced aphasia therapy (CIAT) has been widely used in post-stroke aphasia rehabilitation. An increasing number of clinical controlled trials have investigated the efficacy of the CIAT for the post-stroke aphasia. PURPOSE To systematically review the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) concerning the effect of the CIAT in post-stroke patients with aphasia, and to identif...
متن کاملNeuroimaging Correlates of Post-Stroke Aphasia Rehabilitation in a Pilot Randomized Trial of Constraint-Induced Aphasia Therapy
BACKGROUND Recovery from post-stroke aphasia is a long and complex process with an uncertain outcome. Various interventions have been proposed to augment the recovery, including constraint-induced aphasia therapy (CIAT). CIAT has been applied to patients suffering from post-stroke aphasia in several unblinded studies to show mild-to-moderate linguistic gains. The aim of the present study was to...
متن کاملConstraint-Induced Aphasia Therapy for Treatment of Chronic Post-Stroke Aphasia: A Randomized, Blinded, Controlled Pilot Trial
BACKGROUND To provide a preliminary estimate of efficacy of constraint-induced aphasia therapy (CIAT) when compared to no-intervention in patients with chronic (>1 year) post-stroke aphasia in order to plan an appropriately powered randomized controlled trial (RCT). MATERIAL AND METHODS We conducted a pilot single-blinded RCT. 24 patients were randomized: 14 to CIAT and 10 to no-intervention....
